Tobago needs more gas stations !!

Tobago needs more gas stations !!

Every time I plan a trip to the 'country side' on sunday, never make it because of gas. Why is it you have to fill up the day before, why not a 24 hr gas station.

Tobago has about 7 gas stations, 3 of them in scarborough and all close after 8pm.

The little island of New Providence in the Bahamas is about half the size of Tobago with about the size number of people. It has 50 gas stations 50% close at midnight and the others are 24hrs operations.
All of which are open on holidays and sundays.

Do you think that Tobago needs more gas station?
Do you think the visitors the our island don't get a chance to visit the 'country side' because of these few gas stations.

Re: Tobago needs more gas stations !!

as report by Tobago Channel 5 Castara is to get a gas station. One at MAson hall would be okay, with later hours and maybe 24hrs would be nice.

marchristian, yes - they should be someway for Tobagonians to directly invest to Tobago. But, with a budget of 1b for Tobago, should THA handle Tobago needs.

Re: Tobago needs more gas stations !!

good point socanatix, they have to look into whole system.

Re: Tobago needs more gas stations !!

First of all a couple of months ago I was reading there was plans for a few more stations in Tobago but I can't recall exactly where there putting the stations There were either in the process of bullding or getting money allocation for the stations that were to be run by NP.

As for visiting the countryside that is a toss up, the last few trips we had a relative or a friend's relative pick us up and take us in the countryside, or we hired a reputable taxi driver for the day. As far as I can recalled we never really rented a car got by with the local taxi service or walk to whereever.

Now for the gas stations I guess it maybe safety reasons for the employees, don't want to become like Trinidad and get robbed at late . nights Alothough I wouldn't mind seeing at least 2 24hrs gas satation one on the windward side and the other on the leeward side.
