BWIA will shut-down on December 27 2006 and Caribbean Airlines would take up operation January 2007. Caribbean Airlines would continue BWIA operations which includes its tickets and frequent flyer. Disabled Community wants THA's Arlington Spencer gone.
Members of the disabled community in Tobago are calling for the removal of THA Health Secretary Arlington Spencer. Because Jason Clarke (employee of the THA) selected by the local chapter of Disabled Peoples' International to attend the conference in New York was rejected by the THA. THA Chief Secretary Orville London comment on it as saying its was private matter. Clark was sponsored by members of the public to attend the conference.
Gold for Tobago in World Championship
At the World Championships of Performing Arts in Hollywood, California ; Tobago got 11 Gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze. About 60 performers, selected from 75,000 applicants in 40 countries around the world attended the event. Adanna Roberts and Kay Alleyne have been approached by recording companies for Recording Contracts. The total count for Trinidad and Tobago consisted of 40 golds, 22 silvers, 10 bronze medals, also the Award for Best Costuming and Best Parade at the opening ceremony.
THA targets illegal immigrants in Tobago
The THA have plans to remove some 200 illegal immigrants from the Island. This is more about THA flexing its 'arm' or trying to move focus away from the projects it fail to complete in time.
