Kenisha Thom for Miss Universe TOBAGO GYUL - gets another bite at the cherry

TOBAGO gyul Kenisha Thom has gotten a second bite at the cherry! This time, however, the ebony beauty, who previously represented TnT at the Miss World 2004 Competition held in China and performed well in an early leg will, instead, fly the flag at the Miss Universe 2006 Pageant.

Tipped from the word go to represent and groomed since she created the ripples on the international stage in December of that year, by placing third in the swimsuit segment (she didn’t make it to the finals), organisers last Monday night officially gave Thom the title when she “competed” against eight other beauties in a strong line-up at Club Zen. Her win did not come as a surprise to many in the business, as it was long rumoured that she was “the one”.

But while Thom remains excited to do it again, many in the industry have frowned upon the move calling her a “recycled beauty”. One designer, who asked not to be named, felt that another delegate should have been given the opportunity as “all the girls had potential”. The mini pageant was well attended by well-heeled socialities and some politicians.
